Pancreatic Cancer: Long-Term Survivors Share Their Stories – Hans Schmid
Every year, about 1,700 people in Switzerland are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer (pancreatic carcinoma). The 5-year survival rate is less than 12%. Hans is one of the few who have survived. He speaks openly: What was life like before the diagnosis? What symptoms did he experience? What helped him get through treatment? And what advice does he have for others facing this disease? Pancreatic cancer is silent and insidious. For most patients, it is detected far too late – by which time it has already spread, and the chances of a cure drop dramatically.
