Increased risk of cancer due to long-term antibiotic use

Gut bacteria and colorectal cancer: Antibiotics can disrupt our microbiome and thereby increase the risk of colorectal cancer. The study shows that women between the ages of 40 and 59 who take antibiotics for more than two months have a 70% increased risk of developing colorectal cancer. We now know which bacteria promote tumor development and which have a protective effect.
