Anal cancer – Systemic therapy combined with immunotherapy has a very positive impact on survival.

An important study on anal cancer was presented at the 2024 ESMO Congress. In patients with metastatic disease, the study demonstrated that the combination of chemotherapy and immunotherapy significantly prolongs survival and reduces the risk of death by approximately 30%. This well-tolerated combination represents a new standard of care and is welcome news for affected patients.
