Description and Scope of Data Processing

When you access our website, i.e., even if you do not register or otherwise transmit information, information of a general nature is automatically collected. This information (server log files) includes the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your internet service provider, your IP address, referrer URL, date and time of access, and similar details.

This information is processed for the following purposes:

  1. Ensuring a smooth connection to the website,
  2. Ensuring a smooth use of our website,
  3. Ensuring and evaluating the system security and stability, particularly for misuse detection, and
  4. Ensuring a technically error-free display and optimization of our website.

The data is also stored in the log files of our system. This data is not stored together with other personal data of the user. We do not use your data to draw conclusions about your person. However, we reserve the right to retrospectively check the server log files if there are concrete indications of illegal use. The collection and processing of your personal data is done in compliance with the applicable data protection laws and regulations. Moreover, the network disclaims any liability when using this website.

Our website includes a contact form, which can be used for electronic contact. If you use this option, the personal data entered in the input mask will be transmitted to and stored by us. The processing of your personal data is solely for the purpose of handling your inquiry.
At the time of sending the message, the following data will also be transmitted and stored:

Alternatively, it is possible to contact us via the provided email addresses. In this case, the personal data of the user transmitted with the email will be stored. This includes:

Additionally, you can contact us via the provided phone number. We collect log data, which includes your phone number and the duration of the call. We do not record conversations as a rule. You agree that this data, particularly for tumor board registrations, can be passed on to third parties (namely doctors exclusively from our network). Please note: It cannot be ensured that your data is transmitted confidentially via the website. Medical concerns can also be encrypted and sent via email. Our email addresses are HIN-protected (HIN-to-HIN).

Our website is maintained by service providers who act as our processors. If you send us an inquiry, service providers we use may receive data for these purposes, if they need the data to perform their respective service (e.g., IT services, call centres). All service providers are contractually obliged to treat your data confidentially.

Newsletter

Description and Scope of Data Processing

Your data is used solely to send you the subscribed newsletter via email and, if you have additionally consented, to evaluate how you use the newsletter and any linked content. Providing your name is to address you personally in the newsletter and possibly to identify you if you want to exercise your rights as a data subject.

To verify that a registration is genuinely made by the owner of an email address, we use the “double opt-in” procedure (DOI procedure) for online registration. This means that after your newsletter registration, you will receive an email in which you confirm your newsletter registration by clicking a link.

At the time of DOI confirmation, the following data will also be stored:

  1. Location, date, and time of registration
  2. IP address
  3. Email address
  4. Salutation, title, first name, last name, and possibly practice/address if provided

We use the email program MailChimp. We also evaluate your reading and usage behaviour to continuously improve our newsletter and adapt it to your interests and needs. To do this, we analyse what and if you read or click on in our newsletters to make them more appealing.
